Description

Rwanda, on the other side of time. Neptune is an intersex hacker. Matalusa is a coltan miner mourning the death of his brother. Together, in love and revolt, these two heroes are going to change the world. In the past. The present. And the future.

Rwanda is reeling in the aftermath of a civil war. Navigating the wreckage of genocide, capitalism and colonialization, the youth of Rwanda are working to change the world–both in reality and in the virtual universe to which they’re connected. Written and scored by Saul Williams, and directed by him and Anisia Uzeyman, Neptune Frost defies all conventions of narrative, gender, and politics, and is a stunning look at a future that could be right now.
