Cinema Club

Saturday, October 8 at 11:00 AM

Free MSP Film Society Members Only Event. Not a Member? Join here.

Welcome to the MSP Film Society’s new Cinema Club - it’s like a book club but for cinephiles. Watch a selected movie with us at The Main Cinema and join a discussion led by a member of our film team, a critic, or a subject expert. Be ready to share your unique perspective on what we screen with other members and attendees. Cinema Club movie selections will range from sneak previews, to awards contenders, to classics, movies that’ll have you talking. To help us be social, The Main Cinema serves snacks and beverages just like at your book club.

Our first Cinema Club is free for MSP Film Society Members only, but seating is limited so reserve your seat today.

About the Film

From producer-writer-director Todd Field (In the Bedroom) comes TÁR, starring Cate Blanchett as the iconic musician Lydia Tár. TÁR examines the changing nature of power, its impact and durability in our modern world.

Blanchett won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her performance as one of the greatest living composer-conductors in this stirring psychological thriller which will elicit a vibrant discussion. Also stars Nina Hoss (Phoenix, The Audition).
