Description

Best of Fest Encore Screening

What is the Arrowhead 135? Nothing more than one of the toughest, most dangerous races in the world. Run, bike or ski, you have to make it 135 miles in the coldest, most desolate area in America, in the dead of January. And the participants wouldn’t change a thing.

From Minnesota filmmaker Marius Anderson comes this incredible documentary, following some of the race’s most dedicated adherents. We meet Leah, a junk food eating scientist, and Bill, an accomplished ultra-marathoner who just can’t seem to finish this incredibly challenging race. Dozens of racers range from all parts of the globe with as many motivations for participating. Anderson asks: What is it that attracts people to such an endurance test, and even more pressing, what can we learn?
