Shy, slightly awkward, bookworm-ish Mina does a 180 when she leaps into the audition for an Instagram-famous hip-hop dancer’s new crew. Mina’s not alone. Everybody in school wants to join E.D. Win’s “Viking” troupe and gain the attention and approval of the young star. The only problem for Mina is, she can’t dance! As the competition heats up, Mina’s study buddy Markus and her free-spirit (and former dancer) grandmother jump in to help her practice her new moves. But when E.D.'s narcissism fuels Mina’s self-doubts, the young teen must overcome inner demons and dance-world pressures to find her own way to shine. With a solid gold mix of drama, comedy, and show-stopping entertainment, Dancing Queen is an inspiring and heart-warming celebration of the power of dance and friendship (and a not-so-subtle ode to ABBA’s smash hit!). –Deb Girdwood
