Description

When profoundly religious Cruz accidentally stumbles on some online porn, what is this older woman to do? Join a women’s sex therapy group, question her church and her baffled husband and reawaken long-buried desires, that’s what. Director Patricia Ortega’s film, with a stunning performance from Kiti Mánver, thrilled Sundance audiences.

It seems as though Cruz has a happy life. Married, with an adult daughter who’s working to be a dancer, a granddaughter, and a nice routine that includes being one of the most active members of her church. But one day, struggling with the internet, she comes across some porn. Shocked, she tries to throw the images out of her head, to no avail. Worse, she’s intrigued. Better–her life will never be the same again! Patricia Ortega’s witty, ferocious and sensitive MAMACRUZ is anchored by a wonderful, fully lived performance by Kiti Mánver has proven to be a critic- and crowd-pleaser.
