Description

Recommended ages 9+

Ella’s uncle Tommy is 100% her person, her one and only BFF. When the young soccer enthusiast (aka Mini Zlatan) casually runs away to stay at her uncle’s place for a summer vacation (she has her own key), the two are set for the time of their lives. When Tommy’s new boyfriend Steve enters the picture, Ella’s jealousy can’t be, won’t be contained. Roping in her unrequited loyal friend Otto and his pet rats, Ella concocts all sorts of creative schemes to eliminate Steve. Desperate to win back the sole attention of Tommy for herself, Ella takes things too far, perhaps even beyond “The Parent Trap” heights of comedic disasters. What will happen if this unstoppable niece actually succeeds? Find out in this entertaining film filled with physical comedy and heart-warming drama--a testament to beloved “guncles” and finding (and sharing) one’s favorite person. Based on the children’s book by Swedish author Pija Lindenbaum. –Deb Girdwood
