Seeing a photo of her niece with the man plunges her into memories of abuse, and so she defies the culture of silence in her family only to discover generational trauma. Generously allowing viewers along on this personal, cinematic journey, López bravely reveals a beautiful grace in the process of healing.
Director Biography

Jasmin Mara López is the founder of Project Luz, to help Mexican youth to document stories. Deadly Divide: Migrant Death on the Border (2015) is an audio documentary that won the Society of Professional Journalists’ Excellence in Journalism Award. Silent Beauty (2022) is her debut documentary.
