Marie Cissé lives in peace. Working at a retirement home in rural France, she spends time with her best friend and loves her job. But when Father Patrick arrives from her homeland, Marie’s life is about to come completely apart. Babetida Sadjo puts in “simply the best performance of the year, blowing everything else out of the water.” –Jennie Kermode, Eye for Film
Having escaped unbelievable trauma from her homeland in Africa, Marie has found an ideal situation–she works not only at a retirement home, but at a comfortable, upscale community as head chef, creating beautiful dishes for a discerning clientele. She works alongside her best friend Nadia (Jennifer Tchiakpe) and is even risking falling in love. That is, until Father Patrick (Souléymane Sy Savané), an African priest, whom she recognizes as a perpetrator of numerous transgressions. Our Father, The Devil is a thrilling, thought-provoking film, and a showcase for an incredible performance from Babetida Sadjo.
