Description

F/X may be a title that you may have never seen or even heard of, but in the 1986 it was a successful film at the box office that also became one of the top rented titles on home video of all-time. Five years later, F/X 2: The Deadly Art of Illusion was released and unfortunately it seemed like too much time had passed for the general public to flock to the theatres or video stores and it became one of the most entertaining “under the radar” sequels of the early ‘90s.

The film was directed by the late and great Richard Franklin, who was also no stranger to directing criminally underrated sequels (like Psycho 2). Like the previous installment, what this sequel lacks in coherent storytelling, it makes it up in fun special effects gags — including scenes with the memorable BLUEY The Clown.

F/X 2 may not be as action packed as its predecessor, it is certainly much more entertaining than the Canadian tv show adaptation based on it and is truly is a (not-so) terrible sequel. Don’t miss the rare opportunity to see it on the big screen! - (Serena Whitney - Programming Director)
