Spanish director Juan Piquer Simón's (SLUGS, CTHULHU MANSION) film is utterly aware of its exploitation pedigree, equally riffing liberally from greater slasher and Giallo films. It's gross, offensive, and definitely a product of its time, but there's an undeniable charm to its stubborn unwillingness to care about plot, character development, and good taste.
