We Really Like Her! co-hosts Emily and Danita invite you in for an afternoon screening of adorably newfangled dramedy Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (2023).

Directed by Ariana Louis-Seize, this critically acclaimed French Canadian flick follows a hopelessly empathetic young vampire named Sasha (Sara Montpetit) as she attempts to find ways to avoid killing people for food. Enter highly depressed human teen Paul (Félix-Antoine Bénard), who not only could provide a quick fix, but also the companionship she’s always craved.

A strangely irresistible mix of Harold and Maude and Let the Right One InHumanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person is more than just a film with a provocative title. While only a few years old, it has the potential to, like Ginger Snaps before it, become an immortal weird Canadian girl classic.
