Description

Known as the “black sheep” of the M:I franchise, director John Woo’s Mission Impossible II has often been scrutinized for its nonsensical plot, odd pacing issues and overly stylized flair. There’s no denying that this sequel is a mess compared to its predecessor and majority of its successors, but it’s a lovable and entertaining mess nonetheless. Nearly twenty-five years old, the film’s weaknesses have now become easily nostalgic to watch with its early 2000’s Slow-mo shots, zooms and Flamenco dancer wipe transitions. Although not perfect, this sequel is a fusion of Hong Kong and American action filmmaking at its most campiest and it’s rumoured to be the late and great PRINCE’s favourite movie (must be all those doves), which is one of many reasons why this action film should be re-experienced on the big screen! With computer genius Luther Stickell at his side and a beautiful thief on his mind, agent Ethan Hunt races across Australia and Spain to stop a former IMF agent from unleashing a genetically engineered biological weapon called Chimera. This mission, should Hunt choose to accept it, plunges him into the center of an international crisis of terrifying magnitude.
