Description

IF YOU SURVIVE THIS NIGHT… NOTHING WILL SCARE YOU AGAIN.

In 1961, a divorced Catholic couple's life is turned upside-down when one of their two adolescent daughters is suspected of her younger sister's brutal murder during her First Holy Communion and a series of subsequent stabbings.

Bathed in the subtle decay of small-town America and the garish iconography of the Roman Catholic Church, the originally titled COMMUNION glides between flashes of proto-slasher violence and the vibes of an Italian giallo. Influenced by Nicolas Roeg's DON'T LOOK NOW and the thrillers of Alfred Hitchcock, writer/director Alfred Sole is no stranger to the inherent clash of old-world faith and our evolving sense of modern morals. ALICE, SWEET ALICE quite literally stabs at the tension of God-fearing folks struggling with the Seven Deadly Sins. - Steven Landry
