Óðinn Hafsteinsson is an investigator and single father living with his 13-year-old daughter, Rún, who witnessed her mother’s suicide. As they both try to overcome this recent shock, Óðinn begins to investigate the mysterious deaths at a juvenile treatment center in the 1980s. Strange events begin to shake up his and his daughter’s daily lives, and he begins to wonder if they are related to the tragedy that took place at the treatment center or do they have something to do with his ex-wife’s suicide? Veteran Icelandic director Erlingur Thoroddsen deftly weaves together the enigmas of the past with a haunting specter of the present into a quintessential Nordic noir.
