A Midsummer Night’s Dream Teen Acting Camp
A two-week acting camp for ages 12-18, August 5th-9th & 12th-18th.
WEEK ONE: 9am-3pm at Zeitgeist! WEEK TWO: 5pm-9pm at Hartley Nature Center!
What to expect: A guaranteed role in our Zeitgeist Theater’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream: at Hartley Nature Center. A cast of kids and local Duluth artists will tell the Shakespeare favorite for summer audiences in a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience. In the woods…with fairies. The first week will be spent on the Zeitgeist Teatro stage learning about the fundamentals of theater. With a full audition process at the end of Week ONE where kids will audition for the production. (all kids in the camp will get to be in the show!) The second week we’ll be in full rehearsal mode and move to Hartley where we’ll spend the week rehearsing for our own production and three-day run of Midsummer.
What we’ll learn: Audition techniques, Intro to Backstage and the booth, Acting for beginners, Shakespeare workshops, Intro to playwriting, Building confidence and building characters, Rehearsal process, and PERFORMANCE!
