Working Classtronauts: Crap Jobs in Space

MOON is the 2009 BAFTA and Hugo award winner directed by Duncan Jones, the son of David Bowie.  After an oil crisis, Lunar Industries makes a fortune by building Sarang Station, a facility on the Moon to mine the alternative fuel helium-3. The facility requires only one human to maintain operations, oversee harvester machines, and launch canisters bound for Earth containing helium-3. Samuel Bell (SAM ROCKWELL) has two weeks before ending his three-year work contract and... things aren't going great. Things are getting weirder by the millisecond, and a creepy AI voiced by a creepy KEVIN SPACEY isn't helping things.

This working class sci-fi movie is paired with working class sci-fi videogame, HARDSPACE: SHIPBREAKER! Trey Smith, in town for Toronto Games Week, will be giving a special presentation on how the movie influenced the 2022 videogame's satirical send-up of interstellar capitalism.
