Toronto Premiere of the widely acclaimed new REDD KROSS documentary BORN INNOCENT with Redd Kross leaders/brothers/legends Steven McDonald & Jeff McDonald flying in for a Q&A!
Presented by Stompbox with High Notes Coffee + Vinyl - Toronto’s premier vinyl record café serving artisanal coffee + vinyl records around the corner from the Revue Cinema, at 2057 Dundas Street West!
With an influence reaching across the genres of punk, college rock, grunge, metal and indie rock, BORN INNOCENT makes the case for REDD KROSS as the seminal Los Angeles band of the last half century.
Formed in 1978 by brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald (also a current member of the Melvins!), and still actively playing and recording today (new self-titled album out June 28, 2024!) Redd Kross are the ultimate rock and roll lifers. From inventing Beach Punk to influencing the Grunge and Hair Metal movements, Redd Kross have maintained the highest level of musical integrity, originality and quality for over 40 years, the underappreciated link between countless threads of Los Angeles rock. They embody Southern California, rock and roll, and what it means to be an artist. Long a “secret handshake” favorite of music fans, it’s time for the world to discover the joyful and irresistible music of Redd Kross. Featuring interviews with members of: The Go-Go’s, Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam, Melvins, Black Flag, Soundgarden, Circle Jerks, Dinosaur Jr., L7… many more!
REDD KROSS are currently on tour supporting their new self-titled album, out June 28th from In the Red Records - we’ll have prize copies to give away!!
Catch them at Lee’s Palace on July 29th (the night after this screening!)
