Description

Don’t Be So Political is a monthly film series that engages with films through a political lens. Each screening is preceded by an expert Q&A. Hosted by Zach Wortzman

“Yeah baby.”

England’s most shaggadelic spy is back! Austin Danger Powers battles his nemesis, Dr. Evil who has stolen his mojo, put a giant frickin’ laser on the frickin’ moon, and created an exact replica of himself, only 1/8th his size. The fate of the world depends on The Spy Who Shagged Me, Austin Powers.

With more double entendres and sight gags per minute than perhaps any other film, Mike Myers does triple duty, playing Austin Powers, Dr. Evil, and Fat Bastard. A star studded cast rounds out the trilogy’s best movie with a soundtrack hand selected by George Clinton and featuring Quincy Jones’ Soul Bossa Nova in one of film’s most memorable openings.

We will be discussing the politics of space and how feasible it might be for an evil genius to hold the world ransom for $100 billion (adjusted for inflation of course) through space technology.  (ZACH WORTZMAN)
