Following their initial pairing in early 1927 Laurel & Hardy hit their
stride during 1928, turning out several of their best-loved silent shorts. This
program includes 3 of these slapstick gems, presented in sparkling new digital
restorations. The plot of We Faw Down is a blueprint for the
boys' sound feature Sons of the Desert, in which Stan and Ollie sneak
out on their wives to have some fun, only to have their alibi backfire. In From
Soup To Nuts, Stan and Ollie are cater-waiters at a dinner party of the
social elite, and in You're Darn Tootin' they are musicians who go from
performing in a concert band to playing in the streets, where their talents
precipitate a wild tit-for-tat slapstick battle. Presented courtesy of
Flicker Alley.
