Join Dumpster Raccoon Cinema for the MUSICAL EVENT OF THE SEASON as we attend the hallowed halls and vine-draped walls of SHIZ and resist the creeping RISE OF FASCISM with a special SINGALONG SCREENING of the year’s biggest camp insta-classic, WICKED (2024)!!
ELPHABA THROPP (Cynthia Arivo) has always been different, has always stood out and apart. But all of that changes when she delivers her much-beloved sister to university and gains the attention of Shiz professor MADAME MORRIBLE (Michelle Yeoh) and ultra-popular student GLINDA UPLAND (Ariana Grande) – not to mention Shiz’s handsome new transfer student, Prince FIYERO TIGELAAR (Jonathan Bailey)! Will her mysterious magical powers prove at last to be a blessing and not a curse? Will she win an audience with the all-powerful WIZARD OF OZ (Jeff Goldblum)? Will she finally find a cure for her green skin? Or are the rising currents of fear and xenophobia in Oz a warning that all is not as it seems behind the curtains of power?
The smash hit film of last year (adapting Stephen Schwartz’s record-breaking 1995 musical and poised to sweep the 2024 Oscars) is a candy-colored, joyous and affirming crescendo, and we want to celebrate that energy with a singalong and open stage worthy of its campy highs and heat-breaking lows.
