Description

Hoping to find a sense of connection to her late mother, Gorgeous takes a trip to the countryside to visit her aunt at their ancestral house. She invites her six friends, Prof, Melody, Mac, Fantasy, Kung Fu, and Sweet, to join her. The girls soon discover that there is more to the old house than meets the eye.

At long last our journey down Nightmare Alley has led us to THE House! This certified cult classic manages to exceed its reputation as a fevered, psychedelic haunted house caper that needs to be seen to be believed. HAUSU exists in the dream logic of a darkly comic fable, filled with laughter and songs and great gushes of blood. Visually chaotic with its hyperactive editing and playful use of hand-drawn animation and stop-motion, director Nobuhiko Obayashi creates a truly unique carnival ride of a film, while quietly maintaining a quiet melancholy just below the surface. HAUSU is one of the great 'midnight movie' cinematic experiences you can not miss!
