Carl Jackson’s “Home for Christmas”
Held in his hometown of Louisville, Mississippi, “Home for Christmas” is an annual benefit concert hosted by multi-Grammy winner, Dove recipient, two-time SPBGMA Songwriter of the Year, Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame member, Mississippi Governor’s Award for Excellence in Music, and award-winning music writer, producer, and performer, Carl Jackson. A world-class guitar and banjo player, Carl began his music career with the legendary Glen Campbell when Carl was only 18 years old, playing and singing with Glen all over the world for twelve years. In addition to producing many other award-winning projects and playing and singing on hundreds of other artists’ albums during his career, Carl produced and performed on the award-winning album "Mark Twain: Words & Music" in 2011, "Grace Notes" in 2014, and his tribute to the historic 1927 Bristol Sessions, "Orthophonic Joy: The 1927 Bristol Sessions Revisited" in 2015. As a tribute to his mentor and hero, Glen Campbell, Carl produced Glen's final studio album, "Adiós" in 2017. Carl was honored by the state of Mississippi in 2011 with a Country Music Trail Marker placed in his hometown of Louisville, Mississippi.
Attended by fans from more than eight states each year, “Home for Christmas” features several of Carl’s closest friends and fellow award-winning music writers, producers and performers, Larry Cordle, Jerry Salley, Valerie Storey, Bradley Walker, Johnny Rawls, and Isaac Moore.
“Home for Christmas” is an annual benefit event hosted by Carl for over 23 years for the continued effort to restore the historic Strand Theater in the town where he grew up. Owned by the City of Louisville, this beautiful facility is the future home of the community’s municipal arts center.
