Featuring flying cows, mysterious gods, and lyrical pandemonium, Mixtape brings together recent works from emerging artists alongside classics that inspired Hertzfeldt’s own iconic career. The program includes a new animated introduction from Hertzfeldt and never-before-seen work from famed underground animator Bruce Bickford.
Featured filmmakers include Richard Condie, Bruce Bickford, Wendy Tilby and Amanda Forbis, Mark Baker, Corrinne James, David OReilly, Jesse Moynihan, Takeshi Murata and Christopher Rutledge, Maks Rzontkowski, Kasia Nalewajka, Nicolas Ménard, and Jonatan Schwenk.
Don Hertzfeldt is an American independent filmmaker whose animated films have screened worldwide. His work has received two Oscar® nominations for Best Animated Short Film, two Sundance Grand Jury Prizes for Short Film, a Short Film Palme d’Or nomination at Cannes, and numerous other awards.
