Tuvergen Band

Showings

Historic Chateau Theatre, Peace Plaza Fri, Nov 21 7:00 PM

Description

This year’s Sound School artist is Tuvergen Band, a genre-defying Mongolian folk fusion trio blending traditional instruments, throat singing, and contemporary rock influences.

Tuvergen Band (“galloping” in Mongolian) is a Chicago-based folk-fusion trio formed in 2020 by brothers Tamir and Naizal Hargana of Inner Mongolia, and Brent Roman. The group blends Mongolian and Tuvan traditions—including the horsehead fiddle, folk lutes, and throat singing—with Roman’s hybrid percussion setup of global instruments. Their self-described “modern nomadic music” fuses folk roots with bluegrass, blues, and rock, making them an emerging presence at world music festivals across the U.S.
