All creativity -- writing, shooting, editing and adding a musical soundtrack -- must be original work. Teams are allowed a maximum of 6 members.

The winning team will receive a $150 cash prize, and get to be “Programmer for a Day” at the Cinema Arts Centre, choosing a film to screen and bringing up to 10 guests for free, with free popcorn and soda for those guests!

Each member of the top 3 teams will receive one year of CAC membership. The winning team will be announced at the screening on Friday, March 20th at 7 PM and will be promoted on the CAC website, social media, and email list as the Cinema Arts Centre’s Short Filmmaking Partner.

Programmer for a Day prize:

Be a Cinema Arts Centre programmer for a day. Suggest three films, and we will book one of them for an evening (Monday-Thursday, depending on availability). We will advertise the film as your pick through all of our promotional mechanisms! You may host the evening, inviting up to 10 guests to attend for free, as well all official team members. You may introduce the film to the audience. See one of your favorite films up on the big screen the way it was meant to be seen, sharing it with your own guests and our CAC audience!  Includes red carpet photo opportunity, and free popcorn and soda for you and your guests.  Must be redeemed within one year.

Films must be 1 to 5 minutes in length.

Films can be informative, narrative, documentary, abstract, or any other form. They can employee any filmic conceits or genre tropes, and can explore any plot or theme. Each film must include all of the filmmaking elements listed in the rules below to qualify to win.

Films must also include the Cinema Arts Centre logo, clearly visible, at some point in the film.

See all of the films at a special screening on Friday, March 20th at 7:00 pm,
Admission $11 Members | $18 Public | All Team Members Attend for Free

Films will be judged by the Cinema Arts Centre Youth Advisory Board.
