This special event, featuring financial journalist and former investment banker William Cohan, will pull back the curtain on Wall StreetIn a conversation with Wavemaker’s creator and host Michael Schulder, Cohan will reveal the details of backstage power struggles, mega-deals, innovation, and character flaws that have shaped American capitalism’s most notable successes and failures. He will also address his recent buzz-making piece about Nantucket's new cohort of billionaires.  

This July 6th presentation, which begins at 6pm in the Studio Theater, will be followed by a wine and cheese reception, open to all ticketholders, at the Harborview Room and Deck presented by PUCK.

Bios:

William Cohan is a graduate of Duke University and received an MBA and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia UniversityHe spent 17 years as a senior Wall Street M&A investment banker at Lazard Freres & Co., Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan Chase,  Cohan has written many New York Times bestsellers, including Money and Power: How Goldman Sachs Came to Rule the World; House of Cards: A Tale of Hubris and Wretched Excess on Wall Street; and, The Last Tycoons: The Secret History of Lazard Freres & Co. His latest book, featuring legendary CEO Jack Welch, is Power Failure: The Rise & Fall of General Electric.   

 

Michael Schulder is an award-winning journalist with three decades in network news, including as a Writer for Peter Jennings at ABC World News Tonight and The MacNeil-Lehrer Newshour, and as a Senior Executive Producer at CNNHe was also Host of the radio program, CNN Profiles, where he interviewed luminaries such as Elie Wiesel, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Clive Davis, Rachel Held Evans, and Ted TurnerIn 2013, Schulder left CNN to create the multi-media platform Wavemaker Conversations, which features in-depth interviews with preeminent authors and leaders in the arts, sports, business, politics, medicine, psychology, and more.
