20th Anniversary / Restored and remastered in stunning 4K!

The film follows the story of Oh Dae-su, a man who is inexplicably imprisoned in a small cell for 15 years without any apparent reason. During his captivity, he is given no explanation for his confinement and has no contact with the outside world. His only connection to the world is a television set, which he uses to follow the events unfolding in the outside world.

One day, just as inexplicably as he was imprisoned, Dae-su is released. With no knowledge of who imprisoned him or why, he embarks on a mission to uncover the truth behind his captivity and seek revenge on those responsible. Along the way, he encounters various characters, including a young woman named Mi-do who offers him assistance and companionship. The film takes dark and unexpected turns as Dae-su's search for the truth leads to a shocking revelation that redefines his understanding of reality and morality.
