Description

In 1997, ROMY & MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION introduced the world to two loveable valley girls who weren't just the joke but were in on it too, and the sincerity of their friendship transformed what could have been another buddy comedy into a beloved cult classic. Join Hollywood Theatre Community Programmer Anthony Hudson for an interview with Romy & Michele creator Robin Schiff as they discuss Schiff's iconic characters, the comedy writing process, and Romy & Michele's evolution from a sketch in the Groundlings to supporting characters in Schiff's 1987 play Ladies Room to the film, its prequel, and a musical adaptation at Seattle's Fifth Avenue Theatre.

During this live video chat, audience members will have the opportunity to submit questions via VimeoLive. Participants will also be emailed a "syllabus" of suggested reading before the event.

Extra Credit is a program of Movie Madness University, a film education program that's gone virtual since the pandemic forced us to close our venues. This event is free, but please consider supporting us with a donation if you're able. Donations can be made on the next screen in the checkout process.
